QUICK RAY® MASTER A - Fully Automated Tissue Microarrayer

The tissue microarrayer Quick Ray® Master A fully automatically punches tissue cylinders from donor blocks and inserts them into prefabricated receiving blocks.

Item no. U1-UTA06-00

Three parameters can be set to carry out this process:
Size of the punch (automatic tool turret)
Number of donor blocks
Number of samples taken per donor block

Using the Tissue Array Report Program (TARP), the patient data of the donor blocks (from an Excel file) and the positioning on the TMA block are displayed. The areas relevant for the examination are marked on the donor blocks with a special oil pen (high contrast to the tissue: white, black or red) so that the integrated donor block camera can recognize these areas.

The Quick Ray® Master A is equipped with two cameras and five axis motion sensors. The donor block camera recognizes the applied oil pen marks. With the help of the recording camera, the center of the corresponding insert is detected in the prefabricated recording block and the tissue cylinder is placed. The rotary die-cutting module consists of three dies in the sizes 1, 2 and 3 mm, which are automatically selected depending on the parameters set.

An external monitor, printer, USB keyboard and mouse can be connected to the computer-controlled Quick Ray® Master A with Microsoft Windows XP operating system and touchscreen operation. Tips, tricks and further instructions can be called up quickly via the integrated help function button. Save images and TARP reports on a USB memory stick or conveniently on an external computer or server via a LAN interface.

The Quick Ray® Master A helps the user to minimize the time and labor required to fabricate TMA blocks by using Unitma's ready-made recording blocks.

Advantages:
Simultaneous processing of several paraffin blocks
Economical handling of valuable biological samples
Saving antibodies and expensive reagents
